Apitjipeg Crafts is owned and operated by Rebecca Labillois from Ugpi'ganjig, Eel River Bar First Nation. Apitjipeg means Rebirth/Renewal which is what Rebecca is bringing to her community through her crafts and teachings. She is a L'nu craft maker in basketry. She works to connect the broken ties from her community's ancestral footsteps to the modern world by teaching the traditional way of life to the children, so that there will not be another disconnect to the past. She has been supporting herself through her craft making and teaching for over 40 years. Apitjipeg was originally owned by her mother, Margaret LaBillois for over 70 years.
