Haven of Hope Boutique
The Haven of Hope is an adult learning centre for adults with disabilities. They are taught life skills, socialization, and job readiness skills. Their Mission is respecting the dignity and needs of each of their clients. The Haven of Hope creates opportunities, provides support, and challenges participants with intellectual disabilities to reach their potential.
The Haven of Hope agency began operation in the fall of 1975. At the time, the agency changed locations several times. In April 1980, they moved to their current location. The agency finally had its own new building at 446 Victoria Street. This building was realized by the generous and kind support of the community and in particular, the employees of the NBIP paper mill.
In 2011, they decided to open a boutique to sell the crafts of the individuals that they were working with. Over the years, 51 other artisans have joined their unique boutique. They have a wide variety of crafts, as seen in the photos. Be sure to visit their boutique and check out their selection of gifts and souvenirs. Purchases support local artisans and the Haven of Hope.
